My first pec/delt/tricep workout in 10 weeks.
Yesterday after my update I was walking by my weight room and I stopped in to look at my workout log from my last pec/delt/tricep training session. The first thing I noticed on the log was the date: 10/25/2003: 10 weeks ago… I don’t know what happened, but suddenly I found myself really angry about my shoulder injury. Not just annoyed or frustrated, seriously PISSED. I guess the frustration of all these weeks of being patient just boiled over. I probably don’t even have to tell you what happened next…
It was an excellent workout. I went light (about 75-80% of my usual working sets) and was careful not to over-do it. I did barbell bench presses, decline dumbbell presses, seated dumbbell presses, lying dumbbell extensions, standing dumbbell extensions and dumbbell shrugs (my traps need a lot of work and I’m going to start working them). I tried some dumbbell side raises, but they hurt my shoulder too much. I measured my arms after hitting my triceps, and was pleased to see that they were 15.25″ – the same size that they were (pumped) during the peak of my bulking phase. I also checked my chest and was very happy to note that I have not lost any mass there, either.
So, how’s my shoulder? Well, it does hurt a little this morning, but not too bad. Medically speaking I probably should not have done the workout, but from a mental standpoint I really needed to do it. I’ll try to be more patient from here on out. My pecs, delts and especially my triceps are on fire this morning. It feels great to feel sore in my upper body again. I’m glad I did the workout, I felt like I was going to go insane yesterday!@#
