I’ll be ending my cutting phase this Friday (January 23, 2004). I’m back down to 8% body fat, and it’s time for me to slowly start increasing my daily caloric intake back to maintenance level. I was going to start doing that yesterday, but our dinner plans changed (the store was out of fresh crab) and I had to have shrimp, which reduced the calories I had planned by 600. I had a very successful cutting cycle: it was 2 months long (including all the holidays), and I lost the fat very slowly – just 6 pounds (2.72 kg) per month. Thanks to my slow cut, I have maintained almost all my muscle.

So, what next? I’m going to slowly add some more muscle over the next few months. By summer time I should be a little bigger, but just as lean as I am now. I’ll post more about this on Friday.

Many people have written to me and asked if I was planning to write a book about my experiences over the past year, my very public transformation and how it has effected my life. I’ve been giving it a lot of thought and the answer is a definite “yes!” I want to make this book something special and unique – not just another “how to lose weight” book. I think it will be a very enjoyable and informative read, but above all I want it to be inspiring and motivational. I think it will make an excellent companion to the information and pictures on this web site. I’m still at the very beginning of the process (I don’t even have a publisher yet), but I expect things to move quickly. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress, and will be sure to let you know when it is available for pre-order.

I’ve got to get to work now. Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!
