How I take my measurements; “Buddy Stone”.

A lot of people ask me how I take my measurements. I take them all “cold” but flexed, which simply means that I flex the muscles I’m measuring, but I have not performed any exercises beforehand that would cause them to fill with blood (better known as “pumped”). When muscles are pumped, they are quite a bit larger compared to when they are cold; for example, my arms are about 1/2″ larger after a upper body weight training workout. I measure my whole body at least once a week, usually on Sunday or Monday. Measuring is a great way to keep track of your gains and losses. Consistency is the key, so make sure that you measure the same way every time. Most people I know measure using the cold but flexed “method”.

We had a lot of fun on the forum yesterday. “Maximus” put his excellent Photoshop skills to work and really made me look like a complete fool (as if I need any help in that department!) My wife is never going to let me live this one down, I think she’s going to make it her desktop wallpaper. Thanks Maximus! 😉 If you have not seen what I’m talking about, you’ll find the post (“The Forums’ Official Mascot”) in the Off-Topic forum. You’ll need to be a registered member to see it.

I’m going to sign off now, but I’ll be around today on the forum. See you there!
