I was looking at my body in the mirror yesterday while doing my weekly measurements and I noticed that I’ve gained a little fat just below my belly button (my “problem” area). When I gain any amount of fat that’s always the first place it goes. I remember the last time I was bulking it really bothered me when I started to see some added fat in that area. I’m not sure what the difference is this time, but the small amount of additional fat is not phasing me in the least. Maybe the reason it’s not bothering me this time is because I have the confidence to know that I can lose it without too much trouble when I’m done bulking. Or, perhaps the reason is because I no longer take pictures every single day and I don’t feel the need to be shredded for the people who come to my site for the first time. I wonder, though, if the main difference between now and the last time I bulked is perhaps the last time I bulked it was simply too close to my initial fat loss phase: putting on any amount of fat after working so hard to lose it was very tough from a psychological standpoint. After almost 2 years of healthy living I no longer have the mindset of a “reformed” fat guy, so adding a little fat as I work towards my bulking goals does not present the same mental barrier that I experienced about a year ago.
