I can't bulk

I’ve been bulking for about 4 months now and I’m extremely pleased with my progress so far. If my bulk ended today I’d consider it a total success. Since August 20th I’ve:

  • …gained 30 pounds, of which a little over 21 pounds is lean mass
  • …added 50 pounds to my bench press
  • …gained 2 inches on my arms (13.75″ to 15.75″)
  • …gained 2 inches on my quads (22.5″ to 24.5″)
  • …gained 3.5 inches on my chest (39″ to 42.5″)
  • …gained 1 inch on my calves (15.5″ to 16.5″)
  • …gained 1/2 inch on my forearms (12.25″ to 12.75″)

With 1.5 months left to go before my bulk is complete, I’ll have no trouble reaching my last remaining goal of 16 inch arms (no pump).

I’ve been training very hard, eating and living clean, sacrificing and putting absolutely everything I have into this bulk. The results are well worth it. Being too skinny was almost as bad as being too fat. You would not believe some of the hateful emails I’ve received over the past year, and some of the message board posts (on other forums) that railed on me. People would criticize me for not making any progress since my initial weight loss, but they’d always ignore the fact that I was injured and couldn’t lift. At first it was very frustrating to read these things about me, but eventually I learned to accept those rants for what they are. No matter what, I kept my mouth shut and waited patiently for my shoulder to heal. I knew that once I could lift again my progress would speak louder than words.
