My shoulder is hurting pretty bad.

The swelling in my ankle has gone down a lot. It still hurts when I press around that area or walk on it with my full weight, so I’m going to continue to stay off it as much as possible for the next few days.

Much more troubling than my ankle is my right shoulder. I must have injured it while working on the fence – probably using the post hole digger. It’s been hurting more and more over the past few days, and yesterday the pain was very similar to the pain I felt when I injured it back in late 2003. I’m going to take a few weeks off from training. If my shoulder has not improved by the end of the month, I’m going to go ahead and have the surgery. I knew that eventually I’d have to go under the knife to fully correct my shoulder problem, so maybe that day is coming soon. I suppose now’s as good a time as I could hope for: I’m almost done cutting and my bulk is several months away. The only downer (and it’s a big one) is that my Titan is on the way.

Life is full of ups and downs, and that’s what makes it so interesting! I’m a big believer in positive thinking, especially when things are not as we’d like them to be. I’m going to remain positive about my shoulder, count my many blessings and make the best of whatever happens. Hopefully I just aggravated it, but if not I’ll look at this as an opportunity to correct the problem once and for all.
