First day of cutting went well; Visualization techniques.

My first day of cutting went very well (my bulk is over, in case you missed yesterday’s update). It’s going to take me a few days to get used to the reduced caloric intake, but once I do I’ll feel better than ever! In fact, I already feel really good because I know that I’m on the road to my summer body… I’m just a little foggy-headed right now.

I enjoyed yesterday’s cardio more than I thought I would. I had a book all ready to go, but I never picked it up. I used the time I was on the bike to focus on my goals and think about how far I’ve come over the past three years. I’ve always found that visualization work wonders. I first learned the power of visualization when I was a competitive swimmer. The night before the meet and just before each race I would visualize the entire race in my head: the dives, pulling ahead with each stroke, every flip turn and touching first each and every time. When you can see what you want clearly in your mind and you allow that image to become part of your daily life, then making that dream into a reality becomes considerably easier.

Today is a dual-workout day: cardio this morning, and legs tonight. I’m still not able to squat, but I should be able to do leg presses, leg curls, calves and lunges. If I find that I can’t I’ll probably work my delts so I can focus on just my arms tomorrow.
