Back to my pre-vacation weight; post-vacation picture.

This morning my weight is 197 pounds – that’s within two-tenths of a pound of my lowest cutting weight this year. My muscles measurements did not change over my vacation, and last night’s chest workout was a slight improvement over last week’s chest workout. As far as my body is concerned, it’s almost as though the week of junk food never happened.

I think there are a few reasons why I didn’t put on much fat over my vacation: I did cardio every single day, muscle burns a lot of calories and I have considerably more muscle mass now compared to any other time in my life and, finally, the old adage is true: “It’s not how you eat some of the time, it’s how you eat most of the time”; one week of junk food will not derail 3+ years of hard work.

Last night I was still holding a lot of water and was looking pretty bloated: my abs were blurred and my vascularity was diminished. When you get below 10% body fat, it’s amazing how much a little water can alter your appearance. I’ve had a few requests for a post-vacation picture, so I took one last night and posted it in my photo journal. Here’s the direct link. Personally I don’t think it’s a very good picture, but considering how I ate the last week of my vacation I guess it’s better than what I expected.

Time for cardio, and tonight is back night. I missed last week’s back workout, so I’m going to be very sore later this week!
