Cutting progress; Cutting to end this month; Plans for the rest of summer.
This morning my weight is down to a 2006 low – 196.8 pounds. My muscle measurements are the same and I’ve not lost any strength, but I feel like I’m shrinking away. I evaluated myself in the mirror this morning, and most of my body looks like it’s around 8% body fat, but then I get to that small area just below my belly button and I look like I’m at 12% body fat. It’s very frustrating because I don’t need to lose any more fat from any other part of my body, but my body will simply not let go of the fat in my trouble area no matter what I do (unless I’m willing to drop to around 5% body fat, which seems pointless for me).
So, I’ve been giving it some thought and I’ve decided that I’m going to keep cutting until the end of June, and then I’m going to stop. Starting in July I’m going to increase my calories a bit, and begin a weight training program designed primarily to increase strength (MAX-OT). I’ll do this program for about three months, and will start my full-on hypertrophy bulking program (Swoled Up) in October. At least that’s the current plan.
I mentioned my PDA in passing yesterday, but today I’d like to add it to my Favorite Things thread. I’d be lost without my PDA. It’s an iPAQ model 4355. It has a thumb keyboard, wireless, Bluetooth and a large, bright screen. I keep all my contact information and appointments in it, and it’s great just for surfing the web, sending emails or even administering servers (there is a pocket version of SSH). Before I owned a car with a built-in satellite navigation system, I used my iPAQ along with a small Bluetooth GPS receiver and a powered car mount. The system worked great! You may not need GPS on your handheld, but I’m mentioning it just to show how flexible and handy these little devices can be.
Reminder: The JSF Amazon Mall is now re-opened for business. The software issues have been 100% resolved, so the JSF mall is finally here to stay! The JSF Amazon Mall is a storefront for Amazon.com, but final checkout is still done directly with Amazon. You’ll note that when you place items in your cart, they are actually placed into your regular Amazon cart. You’ll enjoy the exact same low prices, selection, security and benefits just as if you were shopping on Amazon’s regular site. In fact, the JSF storefront software will automatically find the lowest priced item and show that item first when the same items are found with different prices. When you shop Amazon.com through the JSF Amazon Mall you are helping to support this site and the forums and it costs absolutely nothing! I hope you all enjoy and bookmark the new store. Making your Amazon purchases through the JSF Amazon Mall is an excellent, no-cost way to show your support for JSF! Also, be sure to check out my Favorite Things thread!
