Loki was sick to his stomach last night (he’s fine now) and had to go out in the middle of the night. I had trouble falling back asleep and wound up oversleeping almost a whole hour. I’m was feeling a little groggy when I woke up, but now that I’ve got some coffee in me I feel pretty normal.

Loki and Turtle

Loki is such a good boy, even when he’s sick he asks to be let outside. It was not always this way. When I first rescued Loki he was running wild on the streets, and was maybe 8 months old. The first year we had him he was a terror: he chewed everything, he would pee in the house, he dug under the fence when we let him outside for a minute or two, every time we opened the front door he’d try to escape and he clawed a hole in the wall every day while we were at work. That was about 10 years ago. After about a year of constant misbehavior, he suddenly stopped doing anything even remotely resembling his former self. For the last 9 years Loki has been the best behaved dog in the world. He literally does nothing wrong – EVER. 10 years ago I thought he was the devil, and now I can’t imagine life without him around to brighten my day. I sure hate it when my dogs are feeling sick, and I’m glad he’s feeling better this morning.

When I wake up I rarely know what I’m going to talk about; I just sit down and start typing about whatever is on my mind. I guess this morning it was dogs, but now I need to get my butt on the bike – I’m running VERY late. Happy Friday!
