JSF Cheat Meal postmortem.

We were only a group of 19, but I’m told we were as loud as a crowd of 200…

The 3rd Annual JSF Cheat meal was held last night and it was a huge success. Everyone started showing up around 7:30 PM, and the last of us departed the restaurant shortly before midnight. Four and half hours never flew by so fast! I think next year we should think about planning an entire cheat day.

It’s going to take some time for everyone to get their pictures and videos to me. Once I get the media, I’ll need to assemble everything into an album. I’ll try to have it done and posted later today or by tomorrow morning. Flashbulbs were going off non-stop the entire evening, so there bound to be some real gems in there.

Phillydude played a clever prank on me last night (and I think there is at least one video of it, someone please send it to me): I ordered a big 18oz steak and a double order of steak fries. Needless to say, after months of nothing but cod and broccoli I was looking forward to my food more than I can describe. Our server started bring our food out, and she sat a big plate of cod and broccoli down in front of me. It took me a second to figure out what was happening, but when I looked up and saw everyone taking pictures, shooting video and laughing I realized I’d been had. Nice one, Phil! Thankfully they brought my real dinner out right behind the cod. I think Phil ate the cod for desert. It actually looked pretty good…

As for me, well, I’m very tired this morning. I didn’t fall asleep until around 1:00 AM, which is later than I’ve been up in a long, time. I’m usually in bed by 9:30 or 10:00 each night, so this morning when the dogs woke me up at 6:00 AM I wanted to die. Lack of sleep combined with the “heavy” food and alcohol I consumed last night has left me feeling pretty crappy this morning. I know, I’m wimp when it comes to late nights and/or partying. My party days are long over, and I’m glad: I feel like death warmed over right now.

Thanks again to everyone who came – I hope you all had as much fun as Lisa and I did! It was awesome to meet everyone and hang out for awhile.
