Fun Saturday!

Today is going to be a fun day! The weather has been absolutely perfect for the past two weeks, and today is no different: cloudless blue skies, bright sunshine and a high of around 70 degrees. After our Saturday morning chores, Lisa and I are going to drop the top on the car and enjoy some of this beautiful weather!

First, I think we’re going to go out to eat for lunch. I worked very hard in the gym over the past week and stuck to my diet 100%, so today I’m going to relax and enjoy my weekly cheat meal. I’m thinking seafood sounds good, but I’m also sort of craving Mexican. I can’t make up my mind, so I’ll let Lisa decide.

After lunch we’ll be heading over to our new house. Our home is finally nearing completion, and everything is really starting to come together now! We’re probably about one month away from closing. I did not go to the house yesterday, but I know a number of cool things were scheduled to happen so I will be taking a lot of pictures and making a huge update to my new home construction journal (an upgraded forum membership is required) later this afternoon.

As much as I’ve been out at the house checking on construction, it’s no surprise that I’ve already gotten to know several of my future neighbors. Lisa and I have become fast friends with one couple in particular, Roy and Rose. I hung out with Roy for about an hour at his house the other night, and his home is absolutely stunning! Lisa and I are going to stop by their house this afternoon: I’ll be helping Roy with some computer stuff while Lisa and Rose go over some window treatment designs. Rose is an educator, but she has a side window treatment business and she is incredibly talented! We’ll definitely be hiring her after we move in.

It’s amazing how friendly everyone is in the new neighborhood. I’m serious, everyone smilies and waves when I drive by – even the teenagers, which really shocked me. I’m used to teenagers glaring at me, not waving. I joked to Lisa that there must be some rule about waving because everyone does it. I know that sounds a little corny, but I really like how the neighborhood seems so close-knit and friendly. It’s a big part of the reason we decided to move there.

I’m off to wash the car now. Have a great day!
