This past week has been very satisfying from a diet and training standpoint. While none of my workouts were especially memorable (save leg day, which introduced outdoor walking lunges), every workout was a very solid effort. This week I continued to build on the progress I made last week; slowly but surely my strength is returning, and I’m feeling more powerful and confident in the gym. Other than one minor deviation from my planned cutting diet (steak as a protein for Valentine’s dinner), my diet has been 100% perfect.

Normally tonight would be my cheat meal, but I’m saving it for tomorrow. We’re having a little Daytona 500 gathering, and I want to be able to indulge a bit. I think we’re going to have pulled barbecue pork – one of my favorite cheat meals!

I can’t believe we’re closing in on March already – soon it will be beach season! If you want to walk around this summer showing off a body you are proud of, NOW is the time to get serious with your diet and training. I’ve opened the March “100 Challenge” for entry – JOIN! These challenges are are great way to keep yourself honest and motivated. Details are immediately below today’s update.

I’d better get going now because I’ve still go cardio to do, and my landscape designer friend is coming over right after his morning radio show to plan out our front yard. He did an amazing job with our old home, and I’m very excited to see what he comes up with for our new home. My only request is that he incorporate two or three mature Queen palms, a Magnolia (or two!), perhaps a ligustrum tree and plenty of roses.
