Real good workout yesterday, but not good enough; Tired this morning.

Despite feeling a little tired yesterday I forced myself to do my workout (back and biceps). I’m glad I pushed through, as it was my best workout since my return. Even though I improved reps and/or weight on all lifts over last week’s performance, I can’t help but compare my lifts to my all-time personal bests; unfortunately I’m nowhere near those high water marks, and the competitive side of me is annoyed by that. I’m trying to balance my strong competitive drive with a bit of pragmatism to avoid injury. For someone like me, this is harder than it sounds.

By early yesterday evening I started to feel a bit under the weather. There’s a lot of stuff going around right now, and I may have picked up something. This morning I feel a little cloudy-headed and slightly run-down, but otherwise OK. I think I’m going to shift today’s weight training workout to tomorrow and do some light cardio this morning. I’ve not been sick in a couple of years, and I really want to keep that streak going and fight this bug off!

I’m going to go get a 30-minute ride in, take a hot shower and get a good breakfast in me. I’ll bet I’ll feel fine after that. Have a good day!
