Feeling good; Planning on a great workout today!

I think moving my chest and triceps workout from yesterday to today was a wise choice. This morning I feel much more rested than I did yesterday (I slept an extra 30 minutes this morning, too), and I no longer feel like I might be coming down with something. A day of rest and some extra vitamin C (along with 6 clean meals) is all it took to ward off the bug. It just goes to show that it’s important to listen to what your body is trying to tell you. So many people I know are sick in bed right now, but I won’t even miss a day of training. I’m not saying that I’m infallible to illness, but I honestly believe that I do everything in my power to stack the deck in my favor.

So today is chest and triceps, and I want to blow last week’s workout out of the water. Of all the big compounds I’m doing right now, my bench press is where I lost the most ground while I was taking a break from lifting to move and get settled. While I’ve never had particularly spectacular bench press numbers (in part due to my chronic shoulder problems), my ego is a little bruised right now. I swear, it’s a good thing I workout at home. If I worked out in a gym I’d probably be constantly injured because I’m so competitive. I can’t help it, it’s just how they wired me up at the factory.

I’m late for breakfast, so I’d better get in the kitchen!
