Yesterday was a very busy day, and today is going to be more of the same. In fact, I’ve got an early morning meeting that I need to start getting ready for right now. After my meeting I’ve got quite a bit of work to do, but I’ll break away long enough to get my leg workout in this afternoon.
I know some people love going to a commercial gym, but for me and my lifestyle, having a home gym makes the most sense. There’s no way I’d have time to break away for my workout in the middle of the day if I had to drive to commercial gym. Over the years I’ve worked out first thing in the morning, in the evenings after work and at various times during the day, and for me there’s no question that my ideal workout time is mid-afternoon. I think having three meals in me before my workouts helps boost my energy level and strength, but it’s still early enough in the day that I’m not feeling that post-work day fatigue. I love getting my workout in, taking a quick shower and sitting back down to work with a PWO protein/oats shake – all on my “lunch” hour.
Today for my leg workout I’m going to return to the backyard for walking lunges. I’m really looking forward to that, as it’s been weeks since I’ve done them. The weather looks good, too. The lot behind my house is having a home constructed on it right now, and the framers will be upstairs working today. They are probably going to have a good laugh watching me lunge, red-faced and grunting, all over my back yard.
I’m late now! I need to get in the shower and get going. Thanks for stopping by today, train hard!!!
