Well, other than a pretty good back/biceps workout on Monday, it’s been another week of absolutely zero progress thanks to a very nasty cold. I could have used the cold as an excuse to stray from my diet, but I did not. Other than some chicken noodle soup a couple of times, my diet has remained spot-on all week long.
It’s time for my weekly measurements…
My scale weight this morning is 187.2 pounds, almost identical to last Sunday’s 187.4 pounds.
My body fat measurement this morning is 8.8% (as measured by the Fat Track PRO Digital Body Fat Calipers), which is exactly the same as it was a week ago.
My soft tape measurements are also identical to last Sunday’s measurements.
Yeah, about what I exected, all things considered.
Sometimes things that are out of our control get in the way of our plans and there’s nothing we can do to change them. Such has been the case for me over the past few weeks. I’ve accepted these things, and recognized them for what they are: very minor, very short-lived problems. So I pulled a muscle in my back and then picked up a bad cold – big deal! It’s two or three weeks out of my life. People persivere and overcome problems a thousand times worse than a pulled muscle and a cold. I’ve got absolutely nothing to complain about. I’m starting to feel better now, and my only thoughts are getting back to training and doing what I have to do in order to reach my goal.
Setbacks big and small are a part of life; giving up should never be.
