As much as I’d love to start training again today, I’ve decided that the smart thing to do is allow my body a couple more days to fully recover from the bad cold I picked up last week. I am feeling much better this morning, but my sinuses are still a wreck and that is making breathing very difficult. Also, yesterday Lisa and I did some house cleaning and even that light activity left me very fatigued. Clearly my body is still recovering, and subjecting it to a difficult strength training workout right now would not be intelligent. I would be pretty irritated with myself if I relapsed because I was impatient at the last minute. I will resume training on Wednesday. If my sinuses are cleared up tomorrow I may test the waters with some LISS cardio in the morning.
Even though I’m not fully recovered from that nasty cold, I can’t adequately describe how happy I am to be feeling better. I’m not used to being sick, and it’s very frustrating for someone like me to be forced into lying around, feeling crappy and accomplishing absolutely nothing. It felt really good to clean the house yesterday and do something constructive and positive. I can’t wait to start training again on Wednesday! I have a feeling I’m going to have some excellent workouts: my motivation to train is extremely high right now.
