Good workout yesterday; Not much of a vacation…

From a diet and training standpoint, yesterday was stellar! All meals eaten as planned, and I had an incredible back and biceps workout. Making my vacation week into a “get back on track fitness week” was the smartest thing I could have done. At this point I feel like I’m back on track and hitting my stride again. This weekend will be a challenge, as that’s typically when I relax my diet a bit. There’s a zero percent chance that I’ll stray from my planned diet, but I don’t expect it to be a walk in the park, either.

I sure haven’t had much rest and relaxation. In fact, so far this has been one of the worst “vacations” I’ve ever had. With the exception of just one day, I’ve been interrupted by work in some form or fashion every single day thus far. Yesterday some bad storms ripped through the area, and caused all kinds of problems on the networks I’m responsible for. I wound up working from late afternoon until bedtime, and this morning I’m working to mop up the remaining problems. I actually feel more stressed now than I did before I started my vacation. When the expectation of being free from work is not realized, it’s very frustrating. At least that’s how I initially felt. Then I took a step back and said, “Dude, at least you have a job. Shut up.” That put things in perspective. Still, I really would like some time to chill…
