It’s Sunday, and time for my weekly tape measurements, 7-point body fat caliper reading, weigh-in and progress evaluation. Now that I’ve eliminated my weekly “cheat” meal from my cutting plan, this will be the first time in quite a while that I’m taking these measurements with very little water retention.

My scale weight this morning is 209.6, down from last week’s weight 215.2 pounds. A 5.6 pound scale weight loss over the past week is about what I expected. Most of that was water weight. Let’s see what the caliper has to say…

My body fat reading this morning is 14.0% (as measured by the Fat Track PRO Digital Body Fat Calipers). This is down from last week’s reading of 14.7%. Based on this morning’s body fat measurement, I’m presently made up of 29.34 pounds of fat, and 180.26 pounds of lean mass. That means over the past week I’ve lost 2.29 pounds of fat and 3.31 pounds of lean mass. Of course water is considered lean mass, so that’s the reason for the lean mass drop. I’m happy with this progress.

My body fat goal is 8%, so at this point I need need to lose ~43% of my current body fat to hit the 8% mark. I have 29.34 pounds of fat, so as of this morning I need to lose an additional 12.5 pounds of fat to hit my goal. I think I’ve probably got another 8 weeks of cutting in front of me, perhaps a bit longer when accounting for stalls.

My tape measurements (as measured by the MyoTape) show a quarter inch drop at my waist and my hips. My arm measurement actually increased to just over 17″ (cold/flexed). All my stats can be found on the stats page.

Yesterday I was upstairs in the theater lobby, and as I walked by the popcorn machine I flipped the bird. Silly? Definitely. It still felt good.

Enjoy your Sunday – see you tomorrow!
