My “relaxed” diet for the past month has been quiet successful.

Over the past month I’ve been training hard, but my diet has been far from strict. When I say “far from strict”, I don’t mean that I’ve been eating a lot of junk food; what I mean is that I’m not tracking my diet or worrying eating a meal every 2 or 3 hours. Most of the foods I’ve been eating have been very healthy. In fact, over the past month I’ve only had one cheat meal that I would classify as junk food (barbecue with french fries). The rest of my cheat meals have been things like whole grain pasta with homemade tomato sauce, 96% lean burgers with Feta cheese and roasted red potatoes… stuff like that. I’ve actually dropped about 3 or 4 pounds this month without even trying, and my strength is up. Even better, I’ve not had any cravings or felt deprived in any way. Not too bad!

I got an early jump on today’s workload, and I’m hoping things stay quiet so that I can finish up by 3:00 PM or so. As soon as I’m done with my usual work for the day I want to get back to the new JSF web site project!

Happy Friday, and Happy Birthday, mom! 🙂
