Random Saturday morning thoughts.

After a rather shaky start to this week’s training (Monday’s leg workout was not too good), I managed to put together a string of three workouts that I’m proud of. While my strength is not growing nearly as fast as it does when I’m on an all-out bulk, it is improving with each passing week. Also, with the exception of a daily multi-vitamin, I’m not using any supplements at all right now. Just good healthy food, hard workouts and progressive resistance.

For at least the next couple of months I’m going to continue eating and training as I am now, but I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do this winter. I was leaning pretty heavily towards cutting down to 8% body fat, but winter time always makes me want to bulk up. My body fat is is around 13% right now, and that’s rather high (for me). My current body fat level is one of the biggest factors giving me pause about bulking this winter. Also, I have not been really shredded since late 2007. It would be nice to get ripped up for 2010.

While I’m enjoying my current training and diet right now, I also very much enjoy working towards a goal with 100% focus and dedication. My 2008 bulk was grueling, but I also had a lot of fun. It’s been awhile since I’ve applied that kind of effort to a cut. Anyway, those are just some random thoughts for a Saturday morning!

Lisa has to work today, so I’m going to spend most of the day working on the new JSF web site. I’m also playing in a big poker tournament this afternoon – wish me luck!
