I hope everyone had a good weekend! Yesterday Lisa, Loki and I had a fun pre-Halloween horror movie marathon. We made the theater extra cold (being cold adds to the creepy factor for some reason), and watched four movies pretty much back-to-back. I’m not a huge fan of horror films, but sometimes when I’m in the mood I really enjoy them. All of the movies we watched were disgusting, brutal, over the top, ultra-violent, extremely graphic and just plain messed up! They were low budget films, but they were all well done and very entertaining. If you have Netflix streaming (and a very strong stomach), you might like these: Altered, Deadgirl, Carver and Tamara.

I’ve become a huge fan of Netflix streaming; it allows me to easily check out films I’d normally never buy or rent, all for free! The resolution of the Netflix HD streams is surprisingly good. The HD streams are not Blu-ray quality, but still look quite sharp. I stream everything up to the theater using Wireless-N; my XBox 360 decodes the stream, feeds it to the Marantz SR-8002 and the video signal is then passed to the Epson PowerLite Pro 1080-UB projector. If you are into home theater and are interested in more details about mine, I have a Home Theater page with plenty of photos and video tours. Next to fitness, movies are my #1 hobby!

I’m looking forward to today’s leg workout, but I know I’m going to be extremely sore all week because this is my first leg workout since my week off from training. I really like the leg workout I was doing before my break (36 reps lying leg curls, 36 reps leg extensions, 60 reps squats and 1 set of burnout/failure Bulgarian split squats), so I’m going to stick with that for now. Because my legs will still be sore on Thursday, I’ll probably have to modify my back workout and substitute rack pulls for deadlifts.

I prepared satay again last night, and I made a few more changes to the recipe. I’m very happy with how it came out, and will post my version of Phoenix’s awesome recipe tomorrow (I’m out of time this morning!)
