Exchanged my bike, upgraded saddle, ordered bike computer; Today’s workout.

After riding my new Trek 4300 Disc mountain bike a bit more, I felt like the 16″ frame was too small. I adjusted the seat back as far as it would go, but I still felt like the handle bars were too close. Also, the stock saddle was killing my butt. Yesterday afternoon I took the bike back to the shop, and they built me a brand new 4300 in the 18″ frame size. I found the 18″ frame far more comfortable, and so they swapped the bike out for me at no charge. I also upgraded the stock Bontrager Race Lux Basic saddle, which I found was too hard and too narrow for my sit bones. I went with a Bontrager Sport saddle, which is a bit wider and a little more padded. Lisa and I went on a ~4 mile ride late yesterday afternoon, and I was very comfortable. I’m really glad that I bought the bike through a local shop (Sun Cycle); everyone there has been extremely helpful and friendly.

While Lisa and I were out riding yesterday I found myself wishing that I had a bike computer to calculate the exact distance we traveled and a speed indicator. My brother gave me an Amazon gift certificate for my birthday, so I ordered the Cateye CC-MC100W Micro Wireless 10-Function Bicycle Computer. Thanks to Amazon Prime, it will be here today. I’m looking forward to installing it and trying it out.

Today I’ll be training back and biceps. For my back I’m thinking some heavy deads, weighted wide-grip pull-ups, low rows and maybe some good mornings. For biceps I’ll probably do barbell curls and down the rack hammer curls. Maybe a set of burnout chin-ups to finish things off.

Time for me to get to work. Train hard!
