As much as I’ve enjoyed my more balanced approach to diet and training over the past few months, I’m actually finding myself pretty excited about my upcoming cutting phase (which starts Monday, January 4, 2010). I think the strictness of a planned cut will be good for me in a lot of ways. When I have a goal to reach the whole “balance” thing simply doesn’t apply; I just don’t work that way. The past few months have been awesome, but at my core I’m still very much an “all or nothing” type of person. If I were to attempt this cut with anything less than 100% dedication and strictness, I simply wouldn’t make it.
For this cut I will be posting my complete diet, training, stats and daily thoughts as I work towards my goal of 8% body fat. I’m around 12.5% body fat right now, so don’t have a lot of fat to lose. Still, getting down to 8% is going to require some discipline. I’ll be training hard, eating six meals per day, no cheat meals until I reach my goal and no alcohol.
A new angle to my upcoming cut – and something I’m very stoked about – is that I’ll be using the new JSF BodyShop™ to track and share my progress. The closed JSF BodyShop™ beta is only a couple of weeks away, and we expect to open the gates to everyone sometime in January. Yesterday I created some new forums in anticipation of the beta testing phase, which you can read more about in this post that I made to the JSF BodyShop™ information thread.
It looks like we’re going to try and make the JSF Poker tournament a weekly thing. If there’s continued interest, I’ll keep it going. If you are interested in playing with us you’ll find all the details below…
Weekly NL Hold’em Tournament on Pokerstars:: Hey, we don’t spend all of our time in the gym! JSF hosts a poker tournament on Pokerstars every Sunday night at 8:00 PM EST. You can register for the weekly tournament any time before it starts. This week’s tournament number is 215254825. You can always find the weekly JSF tournament under “Tourney” – > “Private”. The name of the tournament is JSF Gym Rats, and the password is weights. The buy-in is just $5.50. If you don’t have a Pokerstars account, then simply download the free software and set one up. You can participate in all the play money games you like for free, but you’ll need to fund your account with real money to play in the JSF weekly tournaments. If you live in the US, use the eCheck option to fund your account. If you have any questions or comments, please post them in this thread. See you at the tables!
