Yesterday was junk food day; More on my cutting plans.

Yesterday I had my last great pig-out before my 2010 cut begins. Lisa, Loki and I polished off the last of the theater popcorn (and I will not be ordering more), and then for dinner we had General Tso’s evil, magical, horrible, wonderful, chicken. As you can tell, I have quite a love/hate relationship with the General. The meal was awesome, but of course last night I slept horribly and woke up several times absolutely parched. I literally drank over 50 ounces of water after going to bed. Anyway, I knew that I was going to sleep poorly and part of me wanted that to happen. Why? Simple: with my terrible night of sleep and then waking up bloated and tired this morning, the idea of junk food sounds repulsive. I am so ready to start eating clean and cutting body fat!

And, on the subject of my upcoming cut, tomorrow morning I’ll be taking a complete set of starting tape measurements, a 7-point body fat reading and my scale weight. I’ll also prepare my food logs and strength training program for my 2010 cut.

I’ve been putting some thought into how I’m going to train on this cut. Muscle size is no longer a priority for me. In fact, I don’t even want to be “big” anymore. What I do care about are two things: strength and endurance. Instead of training with the purpose of adding size, I’m now going to weight train with the purpose of improving in other physical activities that I enjoy. Obviously I’m mostly talking about mountain biking, but I’d also like to get back into other sports. So my training is going to be a mix of very heavy, low rep (4-6, ala Max-OT) mostly compound exercises to build my strength and some very intense high rep exercises to build my muscle endurance, stamina and cardio.

From this point forward I’ll be tracking my daily diet, training, body fat, weight and other stuff like that on the JSF BodyShop™. Until BodyShop launches (won’t be long now, I promise!) I’ll post screenshots of my diet and training here.

Well, Lisa is about to hit the grocery store so we need to make a list. Have a fantastic Saturday, and if you’re looking for someone to help you with your diet and training, be sure to check out the great sale Mastover is holding this month. Details are immediately below…
