Cravings gone; Strength up; Lip still healing (picture).
Early last week (and the week before that) I was craving junk food – specifically pulled pork barbecue – like never before. For some reason those cravings have completely abated, and sticking to my diet has been relatively painless. I wonder if the reason I’m no longer craving junk food has anything to do with that pizza dream I had last Wednesday night? I felt so disgusted with myself when I woke up from that dream that I really do think it affected me.
I had an excellent leg workout yesterday. My strength is finally back (more or less) to where it was before the bike accident that occurred over a month ago, and that is something I’m very happy about. Today’s a cardio day, and since it’s raining outside I’m going to do the cardio session indoors on the recumbent bike.
Speaking of the bike accident, a lot of you have been asking me how my lip is healing up. Believe it or not, it’s still not quite 100%. I took the picture to the right this morning.The wounds inside my mouth are mostly healed, but the surface of my inner lip is a little uneven when I run my tongue over it. I don’t think that will ever go away. The top of the area that was almost severed is still hard to the touch and still slightly puffy/raised compared to the other side of my lip. At first I thought the hardness was scar tissue and would probably never go away, but lately it seems to be slowly going away. I guess only time will tell. There’s a definite scar, but it’s not too obvious. I don’t mind the scar at all.
Hopefully the hardness at the top of my lip will continue to lessen. That same area is also still really sensitive for some reason. I have to be very careful when I’m brushing my teeth and flossing.
