I hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was excellent. I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the phenomenal weather, got quite a few household projects done, enjoyed pizza for the first time since last December and even had time for a movie and some poker.

I took last week off from training, and while I really enjoyed the break I am very happy to be returning to the gym today. I’m going to continue with the same 3-day split I used during my cut (Monday: legs, Wednesday: chest/delts/triceps, Friday: back/biceps/traps). Rather than alternate core and intensity training from one week to the next, I’m probably going to mix some heavy compound training in with some higher volume sets. I may repeat the same workout for several weeks, or I may change my workouts around every week. I think now is a great time to relax and have fun with my training. I’m not saying I won’t be working hard in the gym – I definitely will be.

This past weekend I put some thought into the forum and main site upgrades I talked about last week. Turns out the default dark blue skin currently in use on the forums is not even available for the latest version of the forums. So that settles that. I will certainly provide (likely the default) a color palette very similar to what you are used to, but the design will be quite different. I know the new design will take a little getting used to, but I think you will love all the new features in the new forum software. The forum software update is a major upgrade, and I’m going to need to do a lot of planning, tweaking and testing before I can make it live. There’s also the matter of the main site, which is badly in need of a total overhaul. That’s going to be pretty tricky due to the huge amount of existing data in html form. I’ve got to figure out some way to automate the conversion. Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself. I’ll keep you all updated as these projects progress.
