Took a complete set of measurements and a body fat reading this morning.

This morning I took a complete set of measurements, my body fat reading and my scale weight for the first time since my cut ended over a week ago. My scale weight is up slightly (1.4 pounds), but all my tape measurements are identical to what they were at the end of my cut. My body fat reading is also practically the same at 7.1%. The slight change in scale weight is just water retention from the stir fry I made last night. The stir fry is a very healthy meal, but the soy sauce in it is pretty high in sodium and it always makes me retain water. I feel especially good about these results because of the two cheat meals during my of cut celebration, plus a third cheat meal this past Saturday night that weighed in at a whopping 4,000 calories!

Because of the two extra cheat meals last week I did not raise my normal daily caloric intake much above cutting level. I think that was the right move, and my stats this morning seem to back that up. Now that I’m settling back into a more reasonable pattern of a single cheat meal (plus some popcorn) once per week, I’ll begin to slowly ramp my daily caloric intake up to maintenance level. I’ll continue to take my stats, usually on Tuesday morning, all summer long. I expect that my body fat will rise over the summer, but my goal is to be at or below 10% at the end of the summer. I have not yet decided if I’m going to bulk this fall, but if I do decide to bulk I don’t want to start off with my body fat above 10%.

The weather here in Central Florida has been incredible this week. I don’t lift today, so I think I’m going to wrap this blog entry up and go for a bike ride before work. Enjoy your day!
