Well, Lisa and I decided to have a splurge meal last night after all. We had one of our old favorites, and something we’ve not had in a long, long time: California Pizza Kitchen’s thin crust “Pizza Margherita” along with some Ciabatta garlic rolls. It was pretty darn awesome, but of course I had a restless night of sleep. All that salt makes me very thirsty all night long, and also hot. When you’re eating healthy 95% of the time big heavy heavy meals like the one I had last night are a shock to the system. Prior to 2003 when I ate like that every night my body was so used to that kind of crap that it didn’t affect my sleep at all.
I still think Lisa and I are going to go out to dinner tonight or tomorrow, but I’ll probably keep it fairly light. Since we’re getting seafood that should be easy.
So Lisa is going grocery shopping today, and before she does I’m going to go through some cookbooks and find a few new recipes to try this week. Before I do that, though, I’m going for a long bike ride. I really am in the mood to exercise this morning, no doubt in large part due to the bloat I’m feeling from the pizza last night. Also, the other day when Lisa and I went out riding together we changed our normal route up and went exploring. We found this awesome paved bike trail that circles a lake. The trail is exactly one mile long, it’s nice and wide and it has a really nice mix of climbs and slopes. This trail is only about a 3 mile bike ride from our house, so I’m going to warm up on the ride over to the lake and when I get there I’m going to do 4 or 5 HIIT-style laps around the lake.
I hope you all have a great Saturday!
