Wednesday, January 23, 2019 - Welcome, guest user!

Took a complete set of measurements and a body fat reading this morning.

This morning I took a complete set of measurements, my body fat reading and my scale weight for the first time since my cut ended over a week ago. My scale weight is up slightly (1.4 pounds), but all my tape measurements are identical to what they were at the end of my cut. My body fat reading is also practically the same at 7.1%. The slight change in scale weight is just water retention… [Read more]

Back to training today; More on the coming forum software & main site upgrades.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was excellent. I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the phenomenal weather, got quite a few household projects done, enjoyed pizza for the first time since last December and even had time for a movie and some poker. I took last week off from training, and while I really enjoyed the break I am very happy to be returning to the gym today. I’m going to… [Read more]

Massive cheat meal last night; Nice weather continues, can’t stay inside!

Last night I decided to have pizza and bread sticks for the first time in 2010, and it really hit the spot! I ate a ridiculous amount of food, but somehow never felt over-stuffed. Thankfully I didn’t have any trouble sleeping last night, which I’m actually a little surprised by. A big, salty, heavy meal for dinner is not something my body is used to, and when I indulge like that I usually wake up… [Read more]

How I make my chili; Cooking healthy foods in bulk to avoid cheats? It works!

I considered having a cheat meal last night for dinner, but I really wasn’t craving anything so I decided to just have my lean chili again. I love that stuff! A lot of people have been asking me how I make my chili. It’s nothing special: just 93% lean ground beef and Carroll Shelby’s chili kits. You can use even leaner ground beef or turkey if you like, of course. I always make a double… [Read more]

Guess I need to see a doctor about my wrist; First week since cut, doing well.

Even though I’ve taken this week off from lifting, my right wrist is hurting as bad as ever. Just twisting open a jar really hurts, and doing stuff like bunny hopping on my bike is all but impossible. The wrist has been bothering me long enough now that clearly it’s not going to get better. I guess I’m going to have to see my doctor about it. I was really hoping to avoid that. This… [Read more]

Getting back to some old projects; Major forum upgrade, need your thoughts!

Now that BodyShop has been launched and is chugging along, soon I’ll be turning my attention back to a couple of other projects that I had to back burner while we were working on BodyShop. The redesign of the main site (this site) is something I was making good progress on before I turned my attention to BodyShop, but I may scrap the work I’ve done and start fresh. The reason I might do that… [Read more]

Taking this week off from training; Back to the trails; BodyShop prize drawing.

I was just looking through some of my blog entries from this past cut, and I was surprised to see that the last time I took a week off from training was back in March. For some reason I thought I took that week off in early April. I was thinking about taking this week off from training, and now I’m pretty sure that I’m going to. I think now is a good time, especially… [Read more]

End of cut celebration was a blast, but it’s back to work this morning.

As most of you know, the number one meal I was craving during my 17-week cutting phase was a pulled pork barbecue dinner. Yesterday I took everyone out to our favorite barbecue place for lunch and, at long last, was able to satisfy that craving. I had a huge plate of pulled pork, a double order of fries, baked beans, garlic bread and a couple of ice-cold Guinness extra stout beers. Lisa couldn’t finish all… [Read more]

Stayed up late, slept late but feeling good this morning!

Hah, today was the latest I’ve slept in years! I woke up at 7:45 this morning, almost 2 hours later than usual. We did stay up late (for me), but I don’t remember how late. Based on my last drunken Facebook post, I’d say I finally crashed around midnight. We had a lot of fun celebrating the end of my cut yesterday! The fajitas tasted better than they’ve ever tasted before, and the chips and… [Read more]

End of my cut, goal reached – time to celebrate!

After 17 weeks of hard work, my cut is over and I have reached my goal! Today I’d like to take a look at this week’s progress and my overall progress on this cut. My scale weight this morning is 178.6 pounds, so over the past week I lost another 2 pounds. My total scale weight loss for the entire cut comes in at 27.8 pounds! That an average weight loss of 1.64 pounds per… [Read more]
