Yesterday’s leg workout went very well. I felt like doing some high volume training, and so I decided to do the crazy 320-rep leg workout from the old SGX cutting program:

4x20 Leg extensions
             4x20 Lying leg curls

             4x20 Squats

             4x20 1-Leg DB calf extensions

This workout requires two things to be effective: 1) You must use enough weight so that you can barely get the last few reps up, and 2) Keep the rest intervals very short – just 60 seconds between sets, 2 minutes between exercises.

My cardio fitness level is extremely high right now, so I want to make sure my muscle endurance is not the weak link in the chain when I’m out riding. The above leg workout is excellent for improving muscle endurance, and it’s a pretty awesome cardio workout, too. Don’t cheat on the rest intervals!

Last night I made a new grilled chicken recipe that I found on the Internet. It was awesome! Lisa and I just sat there the entire meal not saying much of anything except “Mmmmmm” and “This is SO good!” The name of the recipe is “Unbelievable Chicken“, and it’s really easy to prepare. Check the recipe out and let me know what you think!

Tonight I’m making another new recipe. It’s a grilled shrimp dish with fresh basil and tomato that looks amazing. If it turns out well I’ll post the recipe here, of course.

I’m going to go get a bike ride in before work. Train hard!
