Darn it. I had a great workout yesterday (chest/triceps/delts), but I experienced some wrist pain for the first time since I started on the anti-inflammatory that my doctor prescribed. This is especially troubling because I just came off a week with training at all! I don’t want to overstate the amount of pain, because it really was not that bad: just some minor aching at the very end of my workout while doing some DB lateral drop sets. I’d say the level of pain was about a quarter of what I was feeling before I started on the anti-inflammatory. I just hope that yesterday’s workout was not a harbinger because I was feeling pretty optimistic that the wrist was finally starting to heal up. All I can do is continue doing what my doctor recommended and hope for the best. If things are not better in a few more months I’ll go back and take the next step. Using how things progressed with my shoulder as a guide, I suspect I’ll be referred to a orthopedic doctor who will then refer me to a physical therapist.
My diet has been very clean this week, and I’ve dropped about 4 pounds of water weight since my vacation ended. I’m still up about 3 pounds from my weight before my vacation, and I suspect that is fat. Not terrible after 10 days of an absolutely decadent diet, I guess. I still have not taken measurements or a body fat reading, but I think I’ll do that tomorrow morning. Based on how I look in the mirror I’d put myself between 8% and 9% body fat.
Today’s a cardio day, and I’m going to get a ride in before work. No way to I want to go mid-day again, that was miserable! It rained really hard and for a long time yesterday afternoon, so the field across the street from my home is going to be very, very muddy. Should be fun! I think I’m also going to attempt another geocache this morning. My first two attempts at geocaching failed: one cache had been stolen and I could not locate the other one (also possibly stolen, I guess). Hopefully third time is the charm!
