It’s been raining almost all week, and it looks like that is going to continue for at least the next couple of days. Thankfully this morning there’s a bit of sunshine peaking through the early morning clouds, so it looks like I’m going to be able to squeeze a bike ride in before work. If the rain holds off long enough I may have time to mow the back yard after my bike ride. I hope so, it really needs it.

Yesterday’s chest/triceps/delts workout was excellent. I’ve been doing the same workout for about 6 weeks now, and I’m considering switching all my exercises around next week. Another part of me wants to keep doing the same workout because my strength gains have been consistent and significant and I sort of want to see how far I can take this workout before my strength gains taper off.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it here (just on Facebook), but our pond already has hundreds of tiny creatures living in it! On Monday morning I woke up and found tadpoles swimming around!

I am a proud nature and animal lover, so these little creature are an awesome reward for all the work I put in on the pond. I didn’t expect anything like this to happen so soon! Lisa and I bought some fish food flakes (which we read that tadpoles love) and have been feeding them a couple of times per day all week long. It’s amazing how much they have grown in just 3 days! Metamorphosis occurs in toad tadpoles about 6-8 weeks into their lifecycle, so these guys should be heading for land in late October. I’ve had a pretty stressful week at work, and sitting out back after work listening to the waterfall and watching the tadpoles has been very relaxing. I’m really glad we put the pond in.

I’d better get on the bike, I can already see some dark clouds on the horizon. Train hard!
