Falls at Sunrise

I seem to be running late in the morning more often than not these days. The reason is because lately I’ve been taking my coffee out back to enjoy the new pond, and I wind up sitting out there for more than an hour looking the tadpoles & frogs, watching the butterflies & dragonflies buzz around and snapping pictures. Sometimes I find little things to tweak, and the next thing I know it’s almost 9:00 AM!

I’m really happy with how the pond came out. Can you blame me for finding any excuse to be out there? 😆

Yesterday I had a really good cardio workout on the bike. I started off with a moderately paced ride on the roads, then I found a new fairly hilly section of streets that allowed me to get some great interval work in. After that I took a somewhat leisurely 2 mile ride over to the golf course, with bad intentions. Yeah, I did some more HIIT-style riding on the closed course (video). This time around there were no cranky old men on the adjacent golf course to admonish me with their disapproving stares, but a lady jogging by gave me a big smile and thumbs up!

Today’s my back/traps/biceps workout, and I really hope it goes better than my past three workouts. Hopefully the modifications I’ve made will allow me to at least get some decent workouts in before I take my week off in early October. I’m certainly going to give it my all.
