Decent workout; Stress at work; Today’s cardio: another project; New photos.

Yesterday’s workout (back/traps/biceps) was far from incredible, but still considerably better than my past 3 or 4 workouts. I think reducing the weights I’m using and my intensity level was the right move while I wait for my vacation/week off from training to start. Another thing worth noting is that for the past couple of week I have not been enjoying my weight training workouts. I’ve had to force myself to get in the gym and get them done. A week off will be just what I need to get back in the groove, I know it.

In addition to the physical demands of the past month, there’s another facet to how I’m feeling that I haven’t mentioned in my blog. For the past month or so I’ve been working very hard on a major project at work. I rolled the project out on Monday, and there’s been a considerable amount of stress involved with the launch. Thankfully things have gone 100% smoothly. I’m serious, there’s not been so much as the tiniest hiccup – we’re talking flawless victory here! So with the first week out of the way and everything behaving as it should (I still can hardly believe it), I’m feeling pretty darn spiffy this morning.

OK, so I’ve been doing my fair share of whining about the hard labor and the heat while I worked on the pond over the past six weeks. Now that the pond project is pretty much wrapped up, I figured I’d be more than ready to kick back and relax a bit. I don’t know if it’s the slightly cooler weather or what, but this morning I find myself feeling… disappointed. Disappointed that I don’t have anything to work on! I know this sounds strange, but this morning instead of cardio I’m going to the hardware store and I’m going to find an excuse to get me outside working on something. Actually it’s about time for my late summer/early fall fertilization, so that may be what I wind up doing this morning.

Last night I revised the pond’s waterfall yet again. If you’re interested I’ve got some new pictures on Facebook, and the same photos can be found at higher resolutions in my ongoing New Home Journal (Upgraded Membership required).
