Thinking of working out in the morning again; Need to start a mini-cut.

Yesterday I decided to break from my usual afternoon workout time, and instead did my workout (back/traps/biceps) in the morning just about an hour after breakfast. It’s been a while since I’ve done a morning workout, and I really enjoyed it – so much so that I may start doing my workouts in the morning again. I seemed to have even more energy than usual, and the morning endorphin rush put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. I used to do my workouts first thing in the morning when I first started my transformation back in 2003. The difference is back in 2003 I made the mistake of weight training in a fasted state. Lifting while fasted is not something I’d do now, nor would I recommend it to others. I still don’t know how I manged to do any kind of a decent workout back in 2003 while lifting with an empty fuel tank.

My diet has been OK over the past week, but I’ve been really hungry and have not yet started that mini-cut I mentioned when I returned from vacation. I have not done a body fat measurement in about two months, but I’m certain that it has crept up to 10% or even 11%. I really need to tighten up my diet and drop around 7 pounds of fat or so. I don’t want to head into the holidays with more than 10% body fat!

I had a splurge meal last night (pizza) and this morning I’m looking pretty puffy. I am going to get outside for a few hours and work up a good sweat. I don’t think I’m going to ride this morning, however. Yesterday I discovered that my bike’s tires are pretty much bald, and I don’t want to ride on them. I’ve got a couple of WTB Velociraptors arriving a little later today, which I’m eager to try out. I’ll be hitting the trails tomorrow for sure!
