I’m in a big rush this morning. I’ve already eaten breakfast and I got my back workout in, but I have a lot to accomplish in advance of the big server move, which is happening on Monday (see below for the announcement). Obviously I’m pretty nervous about shipping the servers to New Jersey (they will be sent via FedEx Priority Overnight), but I have full backups of everything and can recover from a worst-case scenario. If the servers are somehow lost or destroyed in transit, the downtime will obviously be longer than expected. We have access to temporary replacement servers, but it will take additional time to get the backups restored over the Internet. While JSF is down I will be posting updates to the JSF Facebook and Twitter accounts, so check those places for the latest information.
I’m going to get to it. Happy Friday!
IMPORTANT: The JSF servers are moving to a new data center on Monday, November 15, 2010. During the move the entire family of JSF web sites (this site, the JSF forums, JSF BodyShop, the JSF Amazon Mall, Mastover.com and twowiresthin.com) will be down. The move will take place on Monday, November 15, 2010 sometime after 12:00 PM (EST). Unless something goes horribly wrong, the servers should be back up by mid-day on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Thanks for your patience!
