A couple of days ago I finished the last of the anti-inflammatory pills (Meloxicam) that my doctor prescribed to me a few months ago for my chronically aching wrist. This morning my wrist has that familiar dull ache that I’d grown to live with prior to taking the Meloxicam. I guess I’ll be going back to the doctor with my unfortunate news. As my doctor said when he prescribed the Meloxicam, “We’ll try this first, but sometimes these things require surgery to correct.” I think my doctor will refer me to a sports doctor now, and we’ll go from there. I already know it’s not a bone issue, so I guess an MRI will be done to see what kind of soft tissue damage is there.
I’m going to wait a couple of weeks to go back to my doctor. With the JSF servers being moved to a new datacenter next week there’s no way I’m going to have time to see my doctor next week anyway. I am not looking forward to the prospect of surgery on my wrist. Typing, biking, weight training and lots of other things will be difficult to impossible while I heal. I’m not going to think too much about that right now. I’ll address the issue in a couple of weeks, and deal with whatever it takes to make my wrist OK again. It will be worth it.
I slept great last night, and I feel pretty good this morning. I’m trying to decide where I want to ride today. I’m in the mood for a challenge…
IMPORTANT: The JSF servers are moving to a new data center on Monday, November 15, 2010. During the move the entire family of JSF web sites (this site, the JSF forums, JSF BodyShop, the JSF Amazon Mall, Mastover.com and twowiresthin.com) will be down. The move will take place on Monday, November 15, 2010 sometime after 12:00 PM (EST). Unless something goes horribly wrong, the servers should be back up by mid-day on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Thanks for your patience!
