Yesterday I decided to skip my workout because I knew I was going to be moving lots of heavy network equipment all day long. I’m glad that I did because some of those routers were pretty heavy. Actually, I have kind of a funny story about one those routers. Long, long ago (like 1999), I was moving one of the routers that was finally decommissioned yesterday. This particular router is a Cisco 7513; it’s about the size of a mini-refrigerator and pretty heavy. Well, back in 1999 me and a co-worker (remember this, Adam?) were trying to position the router in the rack and the router slipped. I remember the both of us trying to lift the router and we were having a devil of a time. We wound up smashing the front bezel all to hell because we were using force to compensate for our lack of strength (this was several years before my transformation). So yesterday we were unloading a batch of 7513s from the van. I grabbed one (still fully loaded with cards and dual power supplies), picked it up and carried it into the storage room solo. The look on my boss’ face was pretty awesome.

I slept great last night, and woke up at 5:11 AM! I started working on the re-design of JSF almost immediately and I’ve accomplished a pretty decent amount of work this morning. While there is still much to do, I’d like to share a few screenshots with everyone this morning. Keep in mind that the design is still being worked on (especially the main page), so things will change by the time the new site launches. Still, these screens should give you an idea of where things are headed. The images can be found in this thread on the forum. Let me know what you think!
