HatterWith the exception of meal prep and two pretty darn awesome HIIT cardio sessions I spent the entire weekend working on the re-design of JSF. I made a significant amount of progress, and the list of tasks that must be completed prior to launch now seems manageable.

Ever since this massive project resumed, forum member “hatter” (Tim) has been down in the digital salt mines with me. Tim, in case you missed the story, was one of the people who contacted me a few weeks ago about taking over JSF BodyShop™ development. We exchanged several emails, and when the subject turned to the re-design of JSF–specifically the daunting task of automatically converting more than eight years of daily blogs over to WordPress–he said “I can do it”. Well, not only did Tim come through with flying colors on that job, he’s remained by my side working his butt off. Over the past few weeks Tim has tackled several major projects such as the blog conversion and the recipe submission sub-system, been a sounding board, helped with countless CSS/style issues, been a second pair of eyes and basically helping out every step of the way. It is no exaggeration when I say that the new web site would not be happening if it were not for Tim’s efforts. Thank you, Tim!

Based on what remains to be completed I estimate that the re-designed JSF will be launched on or before Monday, January 24, 2011! Of course unforeseen issues could delay the launch, but with hard work every evening and another solid weekend of work, I’m feeling very confident about that date right now. Preview images and more information about the new site can be found here. Please note that many of the posts show the site still in the stages of early development. The latest screenshots are found towards the end of the thread.
