Yesterday was a blast! Right after I finished up my blog, I ate breakfast and got my leg workout in. I normally don’t like to train so close to eating, but I wanted to get out on the water as early as possible. After my workout Lisa and I packed a bag and set off for a day of Kayaking. We started off on the Wekiwa river, but this time we paddled north where Rock Springs Run meets the Wekiwa river. We were paddling upstream, but the current is not terribly strong and it was nice and cool under the canopy of the forest all around us. We saw an incredible variety of wildlife…

Small gator. He let us get right up to him.

MASSIVE gator. This is as close as we wanted to get. This sucker was 8-10 feet long if she was a foot!

Another shot of the giant gator. There were baby gators all around, and I suspect this is mom.

A couple of Turtles catching some rays. These are everywhere.

Notice the big gash on the right side of this Turtle's shell. I think she tangled with a gator.

We actually heard monkeys up in the trees (yep, there are monkeys here!), but never saw them. Unfortunately we didn’t see any black bears or otters, either.

I’m not sure what we’re going to do today, but I’m going to get my workout in this morning so I don’t have to worry about it later today.
