Thomas Vanderham tearing up the trails... with a huge DSLR!

In yesterday’s blog I mentioned a product I recently discovered called the Cotton Carrier. The Cotton Carrier was designed to allow photographers to securely carry their DSLRs while doing all kinds of activities–even “extreme” sports like mountain biking and skiing–and also allow photographers to have their cameras ready to shoot in about a second or two. As most of you know, I have been searching high and low for something like this. I’m not the only one: quite a few JSF members and visitors who also enjoy outdoor photography have contacted me over the past few months about this subject.

Yesterday I contacted the company that makes the Cotton Carrier, and they were kind enough to send me a bunch of additional media specific to mountain biking. Check out freeride badass Thomas Vanderham tearing through the woods with a DSLR and what looks to be a large Canon “L” series zoom lens! Here’s a video that has some footage of Thomas:

Obviously I’m very excited about this product because it’s going to make a world of difference in my ability to capture those fleeting moments that I’ve missed in the past. My Cotton Carrier is on the way, and it should be here by next weekend. I’ll have a full review in the very near future.

I’ve opened the August “100 Challenge” for entry.

I’m going biking now. Have a great day! 🙂
