Nice riding weather this morning. I took this picture a few months ago, but this is pretty much how things look outside right now.

Nice riding weather this morning. I took this picture a few months ago, but this is pretty much how things look outside right now.

It stormed all night long, and the sound of the howling wind and the rain pounding on the roof woke me up a couple of times. I could hear the frogs calling out by the pond (the rain inspires them to mate), and their rhythmic chorus quickly soothed me back to sleep…

Normally I’m awake by 6:00 AM every morning, and even if I were to try and sleep past six Loki is very good at making sure I’m not late with his breakfast (and I have the paw-shaped bruises on my legs to prove it). This morning the dark skies and the rain fooled us all, and I was the first to wake at an almost unheard of 7:30! I glanced down at Loki and nudged him with my foot to make sure he was still alive; he woke with a start and looked at me with contempt for interrupting his doggie dream.

When I let Loki out back to use the bathroom his eyes became slits against the blinding rain, and he was instantly soaked to the bone (I call him Lokin-Soakin’ when he gets wet). The rain never bothers Loki because he knows when he comes in he’ll have a couple of big fluffy towels waiting for him. Wet weather and baths make Loki frisky, but the drying off process turns him into a complete spaz–especially if it’s time for him to eat. You’d never know he was 16 years old the way he leaps and runs around!

It’s still windy and raining, and more is on the way. I generally don’t ride when the weather is like this, but I’m in the mood for something a little different. I’m going to go get extremely dirty now. 😀

    • Thanks! Do you need bigger than 1024×683? I think that was the final render size. I have the 18MP original image, but I don’t think it has any of the post processing done to it (I was still learning Lightroom back then and didn’t have my workflow worked out properly).
