Mobic (Meloxicam)

Mobic (Meloxicam)

I’ve been taking Mobic (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) for almost three months now, and within the next 3 or 4 days I’ll be going off it. I was prescribed this NSAID by my doctor to combat the nagging (and occasionally excruciating) flank pain that I’d been experiencing for quite some time. When I first went to see my doctor the pain had progressed from annoying to literally taking my breath away, and I was concerned that the pain might have been due to a kidney stone. After an examination my doctor felt very sure that the pain was muscular, and so he said the prudent course of action would be to run an anti-inflammatory so that the muscle could heal.

Well, my doctor was clearly correct, as I’ve not had even the slightest hint of pain since he started me on the Mobic. In fact, many other minor aches and pains that I typically experience just from lifting weights and mountain biking are far less noticeable. I wish I could stay on Mobic forever! 😉

So I guess the real test will be coming in a few days when I go off the Mobic. Hopefully the muscle was able to heal up over the past three months and that will be the end of it. I sure am glad that I was able to continue my usual physical activities while taking the Mobic.

I’ve been really lazy this week. My workouts have been sort of “blah” and I’ve barely done any biking at all. At least my diet has been on-point (I did have a splurge meal last night, however). I don’t feel like doing much of anything this morning, but I’m going to force myself to get off my lazy butt and go ride.

Enjoy your day!
