I had another excellent workout yesterday (back/biceps), and that makes three straight! Last week my workouts were pretty terrible, so it’s nice to put that behind me. I’m already pretty sore this morning because I changed up all my exercises.

I was planning to ride, but it’s sort of a dreary morning with a chance for rain and I’m not really in the mood. Also, Lisa is off today, so I think instead were just going to hang out together. She’s been working so many hours lately that we’ve not seen much of each other. So a lazy day it is. 🙂

I wanted to let you know that Quest has released their new All-Natural line of protein bars! The new flavors include Cinnamon Roll, Coconut Cashew, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Lemon Cream Pie and Strawberry Cheesecake. I tried all of these new flavors while they were in the prototype stage (except the Coconut Cashew), and they are all incredibly delicious. Actually the “Lemon Cream Pie” flavor I did not care for, but I’m told that one underwent a lot of tweaking after the prototype bar I tried.

You can order the new bars by the box or individually, and they even offer an All Natural Sample Pack so you can try all the new flavors. These are the highest quality and best tasting protein bars on the market, so be sure to give them a try!

OK, I’m off to do… nothing. Have a great Saturday!

    • The sponsors of the JSF family of web sites go a long way to keeping them running (it isn’t cheap). Also, I personally use (and pay full price) for all of the products I recommend in my blogs; not many sites can say that. Most people understand the need for advertising on sites that are provided completely free of charge.

It’s interesting that 99% of the people who feel compelled to complain about these sorts of things have been coming to JSF for many years, yet have never once supported the site with a donation/membership upgrade (and, in fact, they rarely even post on the forums). Actually, that pretty much describes you, doesn’t it?

      • I appreciate when you mention products that you use and endorse. I check the blog every day but not always the forums, so I would end up missing some of these deals that get posted only in the forums.

        • Thanks, I appreciate that. I’ve always done my best to balance the need for advertising by carefully selecting sponsors who I feel provide products and services that are beneficial to the members and visitors of this site.

      • Yes it does, it describes me perfectly.

So it looks like you’re attacking me for not stumping up some cash when all I like to do is read your site and decide to keep my money in my pocket. Even though I did pay for training plans with Swolecat (RIP) and Mastover on your recommendations.

The first time, and I mean first ever time, I pass a slightly negative comment on any aspect of this site, I get a sharply toned comment in return.

        • I wasn’t attacking you, I simply pointed out that you (and people like you) want to have your cake and eat it, too. I find that sort of entitlement mentality annoying, to say the least.

What do you think pays to keep these sites running? Two things: advertisers and those generous folks who choose to support the site by upgrading their memberships.

You choose not to support the site, and that’s fine–I really don’t care. Feel free to “keep your money in your pocket”; thanks to the sponsors (and those members who provide financial support) you get to do that! But what you don’t get to do is come into my house and complain about the advertising that is allowing you to be there in the first place.

Sharply worded? Yep, and you deserved it.
