Thursday, January 17, 2019 - Welcome, guest user!

Great workouts this week, incredibly sore. DOMS is caused by microtears in the myofibrils.

The last weight training workouts I did prior to this week took place the week of December 19th through the 23rd. That’s amounts to a three week hiatus from weight training, and I believe that may be the longest stretch of time I’ve gone without lifting (at least while uninjured) since my initial transformation back in 2003. It’s no surprise, then, that my legs and glutes are perhaps the most sore they have ever been…. [Read more]

Fat loss 101: The scale is not nearly as important as you may think. Nailed it.

For the second night in a row, last night I woke up five times to urinate. I almost always wake up once every night to use the bathroom, but five times is a little annoying. I’ll sure be glad when the excess water weight from my splurge week (er… weeks) is finally gone! Actually I think that may be the last of it, perhaps one more day at most. Of course the initial water weight… [Read more]

Excellent first leg workout of 2012; Losing water weight. First few days of cut: losing water weight.

The first day of my 2012 cut went extremely well! After several weeks of a junk food-heavy diet and no training it felt awesome to get back to a clean diet and back in the gym. My last leg workout was all the way back on December 19th, and so I was more than ready to destroy my legs yesterday afternoon. I was obviously well rested, and I also was enjoying the benefits of all… [Read more]

Back from vacation; 2012 cut: Day #1! EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale

Before I start a long cutting phase, I like to take a week to eat whatever I want, relax and goof off. After spending the majority of my planned late December vacation battling the stomach flu, I decided to postpone my cut one week so I could take last week off. Well, I had a blast last week: I didn’t do a lick of exercise, and I ate more food than you could possible imagine…. [Read more]

Vacation reloaded: let’s try this again. Second time's the charm?

Typically the week before my cut starts I like to relax, eat whatever I want and unwind. This ritual really helps me prepare for the months of strict dieting and training that are soon to follow. With last week’s vacation pretty much a total bust thanks to the stomach flu I battled all week long, I definitely feel let down. Between the sick days I have accumulated (about 4 billion) and the holiday days (Christmas… [Read more]

Happy New Year everyone!!! I’m back from my vacation, and very fired up about the new year!
