Excellent workout yesterday; Garden weekend Part II!
I woke up at 4:30 AM yesterday, and was feeling a little tired all day long. I decided to train early, and I’m glad that I did…
The workout started a little slow, but as I warmed up with increasingly heavy deadlifts I was feeling better and better. I added 10 pounds to last week’s weight, and set another new PR for my current body weight. I was super careful with my form, and I stopped as soon as I started to feel it slip. My back felt rock-solid the entire time.
I didn’t hit my target reps on the last two sets of deads, so I won’t be adding weight next week. Next week will be the final week of my 2012 cut, and next Friday’s back workout will be the final workout of the cut: I will hit my target reps to close things out with one last strength PR. No question.
I took some pictures after my workout, but when I inserted the SD card into my computer things went haywire. The machine locked up, and I had to hard reset. The computer refused to POST, and it looks like a bad power supply (I hope it’s not the motherboard). I guess the pictures were either really good or really bad! Anyway, I’m operating from my laptop this morning, and I am really missing my multi-monitor setup. The new power supply will be here this morning, and hopefully that will have me back up and running.
So yesterday evening I was really tired. Lisa and I went to bed at 8:30 and we were asleep by 9:00. I slept until 6:30 this morning, and now I’m feeling great! It’s a good thing I got the rest I needed, because today is going to be another long day of yard work. We spent more than 20 hours working out there last weekend, but we still didn’t get everything done.
I’m confident that we can finish up today, and that will be the last of the big outdoor spring projects. Good, all these spring chores have seriously been cutting into my trail time.
I’m going to go get my cardio done and get outside. It’s going to be a hot one!
