Sleepless in Orlando.

Facing a huge workload while in a zombie-like state is not the greatest way to start off a week, but that’s my story this morning.
Last night was one of those nights that I simply could not quiet my mind. I woke up about 1:00 AM and tossed and turned for more than an hour before finally getting up. After blankly staring at my computer monitor for a couple of hours, I went back to bed. I finally drifted off sometime after 4:00 AM. Of course Loki wanted his breakfast at precisely 6:00 AM, and I was only able to push him away for about 15 minutes before my resolve to remain in bed was exhausted.
Last night I was all excited about going mountain biking this morning, but I don’t think that’s going to happen now. I’ve already consumed an entire pot of strong coffee and I still feel the thick, gray cloud of sleeplessness all around me.
I also woke up to a number of issues at work that I have to deal with this morning, so that pretty much dashed any remaining hopes of getting a ride in. Probably better that way, as I feel about as coordinated as a drunk on skateboard.
I’m sure I’ll have no problem sleeping tonight–so long as I resist what will certainly be a strong temptation to take a nap this afternoon.
I’ve opened the June 2012 “100 Challenge” for entry!
Well, I’d better get to it! Yaaaaaaaaawn.

That makes me want to go set a PR…

Well, I very rarely nap, but I finally had to give in and take one today. I shot for 30 minutes, but wound up sleeping for more than 2 hours. I took a hot shower, ate some soup and I finally feel semi-human again. Hopefully the nap won’t mess up tonight’s sleep (this is why I rarely ever nap).
