The rain has been falling pretty much non-stop all week long here in Central Florida. This morning the rain was coming down so hard on the roof that it woke me up. Thankfully it was 6:00 AM on the dot, so it was time to get up anyway. We’ve also seen a lot of strong winds and some pretty spectacular thunder and lightning.
Of course when I got up this morning Loki would not take “no” for an answer, and happily trotted out into the storm without a care in the world. In fact, he seemed to delight in taking extra time out there. When he finally strolled back inside he was absolutely soaked to the bone. Lokin-Soakin’ is what I call him on a morning like this.
Sometimes I’m like Loki and don’t mind being outside in the rain, but lately I just haven’t felt up to it. I’ve not been on my mountain bike since Sunday, and I really want to ride. Yesterday morning I came very close to loading up my bike and heading out for a ride in the rain, but the crazy wind and frequent flashes of close lightning kept me inside.
I’ve not done any real exercise this week, and I can’t use the rain as an excuse. I certainly could have done some indoor cardio training, but I simply chose not to. This morning I’m feeling miserable for allowing myself to be so lazy, and the only way to shake that feeling is to get off my butt and do something active!
One of three things will happen today: I’m either going to go ride this morning (rain be damned), get an indoor cardio session in or do my upper body weight training workout a day early.
